Crosswalk is both a precision medicine knowledge base and end-user application for knowledge visualization, “just in time” learning and decision support. Crosswalk currently contains integrated information on cancer diagnosis and treatment arranged in the following four categories:

• Solid tumors and selected hematologic malignancies
• Macromolecular entities that comprise drug targets, diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers
• FDA-approved targeted and immuno-therapies
• Cellular signaling pathways that provide the mechanistic context for biomarkers and drugs

Tumors, biomarkers and pathways are accompanied by images of typical microscopic morphology, textual descriptions of clinical significance and histopathologic and molecular features, accompanied by supporting literatures citations in selected bibliographies of recent publications linked to PubMed.gov. Drug entries include explanatory graphics accompanied by selected excerpts (Indications and Usage, Mechanism of Action) from FDA “package inserts” with hyperlinks to the full text of these product labels.

Crosswalk’s underlying knowledge base is updated continuously with new drug approvals and expanded indications, with corresponding curation and updating of related tumor, biomarker and pathway information.
